The Patient and Client Council acts as an independent voice for patients on health and social care issues. One of its functions is to represent the views of the public to Health and Social Care decision makers.

The Department of Health is currently developing a policy framework called ‘Living with Long Term Conditions’.  Some examples of long term conditions include Diabetes, Asthma, Coronary heart disease and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).  The policy being developed will be a guide for health and social care organisations that plan and provide services on the kinds of services that they are to deliver to people affected by long term conditions.

The Patient and Client Council wants to hear the views of people living with long term conditions, so that it can inform the Department of Health of people’s current experiences and help shape policy which reflects people’s needs.

The Patient and Client Council is encouraging you to come along to Strule Arts Centre in Omagh on Thursday 9th June, from 10.30am – 1pm.  Morning tea/coffee will be served from 10am and light lunch served at 1.00pm.

Places are limited, so please contact Sorcha Forbes on 8225 2555 or email sorcha.forbes@hscni.net for more information on how to share your views.
