CO-PRODUCTION TRAINING & DEVELOPMENT COLLABORATIVE

The Department of Health (DoH) has commissioned the HSC Clinical Education Centre (HSC CEC), in partnership with stakeholders, a system wide awareness programme, deliver an education package for all healthcare staff to include an eLearning programme and a suite of co-production core skills education. Three PPC Members are now invited to apply for a place on this 'Co-Production Training and Development Collaborative'.

The Co-Production Guide was published on 31st August 2018. The Guide establishes what co-production is, outlining the six principles that underpin it. The Co-Production Guide sets out an ambitious mandate and shapes the key steps required for the adoption and implementation of co-production across all HSC organisations and beyond. It is intended to complement existing Personal and Public Involvement (PPI) policy and other key areas of work such as Patient Client Experience (PCE), community development and other key areas of transformation identified in Delivering Together 2026.

In addition, it will be required to scope current practice and review existing education around patient experience, involvement and the engagement of people.

 

Aim of the Co-Production Training and Development Collaborative

The aim of the Co-Production Training and Development Collaborative is work together to develop a co-produced skills package to underpin the new Co-Production guide.

 

Objectives of the Co-Production Training and Development Group

  • To co-design a scoping tool for use across the region and across sectors to identify the current level of training provided in the area of patient experience, involvement and engagement of people
  • To review the scoping exercise and make recommendations based on findings
  • To co-design and co-produce the delivery of a system wide awareness programme
  • To co-design an education package for all healthcare staff to include
    • an eLearning programme
    • a suite of co-production core skills education

 

Membership

The group will be chaired by Caroline Lee, Head of CEC and will be supported by Deirdre Cunningham, Senior Education Manager and Rea Doherty, Nurse Education Consultant.

Frequency of Meeting

Meetings will be held on a monthly basis for no longer than 3 hours

 

Reporting Arrangements

The Collaborative will report through the PPI Forum and directly to Charlotte McArdle CNO through normal Transformation Monies processes.
