Today the Patient and Client Council is calling for high quality, safe care for older people in their own homes.
Maeve Hully, Chief Executive explains
“Older people can find it difficult to come to terms with using domiciliary care services, especially coping with people coming into their home on a daily basis – a transition that is all the more difficult for those who have little continuity with regards to care staff.
“Older people value the care they receive, but they are concerned about the future of services, as budgets decrease. They want to remain in their own home, but can feel lonely and appreciate the social interaction of carers.”
The Patient and Client Council will continue to ensure that people are supported to have their voice heard by key decision makers in Health and Social Care.
